Actually, this is a tough one. The US should be encouraging business to hire Americans. And teaching English won’t need to be part of the curriculum if they do.
Americans want these jobs, at least to the extent they are serving American companies and/or involving customers in America. Why is our taxpayer money paying to train others to take our jobs?
But there is another side to this. The Philippines have a stability issue where untrained youth with few or no job prospects are being lured in by Muslim rebels that are trying to destabilize and take over the central government.
Should Americans be giving up their jobs so we can ensure a friendly government of another country stays in power?
